Drafting in the Drawing Room: A Workshop on the Craft of Writing Prose
Are you hungry for writing community? This 6-week course, led by novelist Hannah Lillith Assadi, is a generative prose workshop. With reading, writing, and revising, both fiction and creative nonfiction writers will hone their craft.
Time & Location
Mar 24, 2025, 6:00 PM – Apr 28, 2025, 8:00 PM
The Urbane Arts Club, 1016 Beverley Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11218, USA
About the event
In this writing workshop, we will read, write, and revise. Split between generative writing exercises, reading short passages from our favorite published works with attention to craft, and discussing original student stories, each writer will leave the workshop with the skills and confidence necessary to really pursue their book length projects. Creative nonfiction and fiction writers are welcome. Writers at all stages of drafting a manuscript can participate, though previous workshop experience is preferred.
This is a 6-week writing course, not a series of drop-in classes. Please sign up in advance to participate in Drafting in the Drawing Room, which will be held on the following dates:
Class 1: March 24
Class 2: March 31
