Mataron a Pedro Screening with Q+A

Join us at Urbane Arts Club for a screening of director Kristian Mercado's short film "Mataron a Pedro" starring Ismael Cruz-Cordova (The Good Wife, Miss Bala, LotR: Rings of Power) as Puerto Rican nationalist hero Don Pedro Albizu Campos. Set in 1930s Puerto Rico, Mataron a Pedro follows Pedro Albizu Campos and his wife, as they are drawn into a growing labor movement. When desperate farmers ask Pedro to confront the island’s white police chief and colonial leadership over island-wide strikes and unjust conditions in the sugar cane fields, the couple must navigate love, conviction, and the rising pressure of a system determined to silence dissent.
