Shakespeare's Birthday

Greg Schicker-Taubman weaves ancient traditions together with contemporary values to craft texts, images, and events rich in metaphor—most recently in The Shakespeare Tarot, a Bard-inspired divination deck on shelves now.

As a freelance theater director and dramaturg, Greg has collaborated with institutions across the country including The Public Theater, Classic Stage Company, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Theater of War. His Greek and Latin translations have appeared in 2025 MacArthur Fellow Heather Christian’s Oratorio for Living Things, The Public Theater’s Bacchae, Extant Arts’ Antigone/Progeny, and JoAnne Akalaitis’ Bad News! i was there…Greg serves as Co-Founder + Partner at FORGE, a boutique consultancy and artist service organization (forgenyc.org). He holds a BA in Classics from Princeton and an MFA in Directing from Columbia and lives with his wife in Brooklyn, NY.
